Motorcycle Trackers: Stealth S5 and Quantum 3
Most riders ask the same thing: do I want a tracker wired into the bike, or one that just sits there on its own batteries? We make both. The Stealth S5 is for the bike you ride every week, and the Quantum 3 is for the one that spends months in a garage or behind a locked gate. Both are Thatcham approved, both are monitored by our team in the UK and both are tracked in the Datatool app.

Stealth S5: for the bike you ride
The Stealth S5 comes with a driver tag you carry. If the bike moves 150 metres without it, our monitoring team gets the alert and rings you to check, and the tag also defeats key cloning. We watch every Stealth 24/7/365 and work with the police to get stolen bikes back.
In the app you get live tracking and journey history, plus privacy mode and zero speed mode for the times you do not want a record, and speed is only logged if the bike is stolen. Tow-away alerts catch a bike being lifted onto a van. It locates by GPS, Galileo and GLONASS and tracks across Europe, so a trip abroad is covered. Honda, Yamaha, BMW and Triumph all approve it. Model pages for BMW and Yamaha have the detail, and the Stealth guides are on the support page.
Quantum 3: for the bike that sits
The Quantum 3 has no wires, so it suits a winter-stored classic, a bike that is awkward to wire, or anything parked up for weeks. Arm it when you park and disarm it when you ride. If the bike moves while armed, we phone you to check it is safe.
The batteries last up to three years depending on your settings, and the IP68 case shrugs off rain and wash-downs. Choose a check-in every 1, 4 or 8 hours while parked (shorter gaps use more battery), and once the bike is on the move in recovery mode it updates every 30 seconds. Set arming schedules by day and time, and you get an email when the batteries run critically low. More detail is in our Quantum 3 battery GPS tracker guide, and quad and farm owners should see the quad bike and ATV tracker page.
Quantum 3 with Scorpion VHF+: the RF and VHF option
GPS and 4G do most of the work on every Datatool tracker. For the times a bike ends up in a van, a container, a lock-up or a basement car park, we are launching Scorpion VHF+, a VHF radio layer on the same band riders call RF. Quantum 3 with Scorpion VHF+ is the battery tracker with that layer added: self fit, no wires, and no drain on the bike’s battery.
It is £269.99, or £578.99 with three years of monitoring included, and it is launching in the UK under Ofcom licence 1419997/1. Register your interest or read about RF and VHF motorcycle tracking.
Which one should you pick?
- Stealth S5: you ride often and want a driver tag.
- Quantum 3: you want no wiring, or the bike sits for long stretches.
- Quantum 3 Self-Fit: you would rather fit it yourself than book an installer.
- Quantum 3 with Scorpion VHF+ (launching): you want the radio layer as well, in a self-fit box with no wires.

Frequently asked questions
Which is the best motorcycle tracker?
It comes down to how you use the bike. If you ride it often, the wired Stealth S5 is the better fit. If it sits for weeks or is hard to wire, go for the battery powered Quantum 3.
Does a motorbike tracker need wiring in?
The Stealth S5 does, and it is fitted for you. The Quantum 3 runs on its own batteries with no connection to the bike, which is why quads and farm kit use it too.
How much is the subscription?
Both trackers cost £12.49 a month. On the Stealth S5 you can pay £119 for a year, up to £459 for five years, or £549 for lifetime. On the Quantum 3 it is £119 for a year or £309 for three.
Are the trackers Thatcham approved?
Yes. The Stealth S5 is Thatcham S5 and the Quantum 3 is Thatcham S7, and UK insurers recognise both. Our Thatcham explainer shows where each sits.
Is fitting included in the price?
Yes for the Stealth S5, wherever you like on the UK mainland. The standard Quantum 3 is fitted by a Datatool Approved Installer at no extra cost, and the Self-Fit version is the one you install yourself.
What do I do if my bike is stolen?
Call our Vehicle Recovery Team on 01257 240945.
Do you sell an RF or VHF motorcycle tracker?
Scorpion VHF+ is launching in the UK as our RF and VHF layer. Quantum 3 with Scorpion VHF+ is £269.99, self fit and wire-free, and a VHF+ beacon can sit beside a Stealth S5. Register your interest on our contact page or ring 01257 249928.
Will a tracker lower my insurance?
It can, because insurers recognise Thatcham approved devices, but each sets its own terms. Check with yours before you buy.
