Speed defined July’s recovery performance across the board. Beyond the 6-minute record, five of this month’s fastest recoveries came in well under an hour:
- 6 minutes — Honda WW
- 11 minutes — Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak
- 18 minutes — Honda CRF1100D
- 23 minutes — Honda CRF300LRAN
- 27 minutes — Keeway X 125
In each of these cases, the difference between a bike being found locally and disappearing into an organised network came down to how quickly the system responded, the recovery data shows theft networks are targeting bikes at every price point.
MOST TARGETED BIKES IN JULY
July’s recovery data showed Honda as the most frequently stolen brand this month, with the Honda NSC110 topping the list . The Yamaha Rayzr and Honda Vision followed closely, each recovered twice.
MOST MOTORCYCLE THEFTS HAPPENED DURING THE DAY
56.5% of motorcycle thefts in July took place during the day (06:00–17:59), with the remaining 43.5% occurring at night. Thieves struck at almost every hour — from early morning rides through to late evening park-ups.
This is a reminder that no time of day is automatically safe. Whether your bike is parked at work, outside a shop or on your driveway, thieves will take their chance when an opportunity presents itself. With more than half of thefts taking place during the day, our data highlights that the majority of stolen bikes were taken while their owners were perhaps at work, grabbing lunch, or running a quick errand — in broad daylight.

WHERE THEFTS OCCURRED IN JULY
Motorcycle theft is not confined to one region — July’s data shows bikes being taken from city streets, residential roads and rural locations right across the country.
Key theft areas in the North and Midlands: Bradford, Leicester and Nottingham were among the most active areas, with urban centres continuing to see the highest concentration of incidents.
Key theft areas in the South: Kent, Norwich and Birmingham featured prominently, alongside ongoing activity across the Metropolitan area — the most active region for motorcycle theft in July.
